Join us for the exhilarating Black Squirrel Triathlon on Sunday, August 18, 2024, in the picturesque Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie. This exciting event is perfect for participants of all ages and skill levels, featuring a flat and fast course that showcases the stunning Lake Manawa. The triathlon kicks off with a clockwise swim right from the sandy shores of Lake Manawa Beach, followed by an invigorating bike ride that consists of two complete loops around the lake. Rounding out the event is a scenic run that takes you through the paved trails and neighboring streets, offering both challenge and beauty.
All participants will be celebrated with a finisher medal, and there will be awards for the top three overall male and female competitors aged 15 and above, as well as for the top three individuals in each 5-year age group for both males and females. Relay teams can also compete for top honors, along with special awards for SwimRun/Aquathon and Aquabike categories. Organiser's Description
The Black Squirrel is a great race for any age and ability on a flat and fast course on Lake Manawa. The race starts and ends at Lake Manawa Beach. The Swim course is a clockwise course straight out from the beach and back. The Bike Course consists of two complete clockwise loops of the lake. The Run Course exits the transition area and uses portions of the paved trail and adjacent streets. All participants will receive a finisher medal! Awards for the Top 3 overall males and females ages 15 and above. Top 3 individuals in each 5 year USA Triathlon Age Group on both male and females. Awards also for the top 3 relay teams. Top overall award for SwimRun/Aquathon. and Aqaubike male and female.
