Join us for the 4th Annual Black History Month Family 5k Walk/Run on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in beautiful Sacramento! This uplifting event, presented by Black Men Run Sacramento, is designed to promote generational health by encouraging families to engage in physical activity while connecting with BIPOC organizations dedicated to improving health outcomes. Participants can choose their preferred distance, making it a perfect outing for both walkers and runners of all ages.
The race will kick off and conclude at REI Sacramento, and while the first 200 registrants will receive a medal, there will still be plenty of exciting raffle prizes and giveaways for all attendees, including a free BMR branded canvas tote bag (while supplies last). If you can't make it to Sacramento in person, we invite you to join us virtually and support the vital health equity work of the Capitol City Black Nurses Association. Don’t forget to share your experience on social media with the hashtags #BMRSACRAMENTO, #CCBNA, #BLACKHISTORYMONTH, and #RUNFORAHMAUD. Let’s make strides towards better health together!

OUR MISSION: The Black History Month Family 5k Walk/Run encourages healthy lifestyles within the Black community by promoting physical activity like running and walking while fostering connections with BIPOC organizations dedicated to improving health outcomes. This event helps creates a new standard for generations to follow. This is Generational Health!
We welcome walkers and runners to choose whichever distance works for you and your family! Net proceeds go to the Capitol City Black Nurses Association. The first 200 registrants will receive a medal!* The race starts and ends at REI Sacramento.
