Organiser's Description
The event includes a 1/2 Marathon run and a 5K run/walk. The 5K also provides an opportunity for families and people with pets to participate. Both are held on the Yough River Trail of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) which provides a flat, fast, crushed limestone surface. Medals are given in both races. Please note that medals not claimed on race day will be discarded.
Pacers from Marathon Pacing [http://marathonpacing.com/boston.php]will participate in the 1/2 Marathon.
The Mon Yough Trail Council (MYTC) hosts this race. It raises necessary funds for trail maintenance and upkeep throughout the year. The MYTC is one of a network of all-volunteer trail councils that exist along the GAP specifically to keep the trail open and accessible for all.

THE COURSE WILL OFFICIALLY CLOSE AT 1 PM. NO SUPPORT SERVICES WILL BE AVAILABLE AFTER THAT TIME. LOCATION Start and finish are at the Boston Trailhead of the Youghiogheny River Trail, part of the Great Allegheny Passage. The trailhead is located at 1902 Donner Street, Elizabeth Township, PA 15135 (GPS Coordinates 40 18.6482 N 79 49.6905 W). From Route 30 follow Route 48 South, or from Route 51, follow Route 48 North. PARKING There is limited parking at the Boston Trailhead. Volunteers will be onsite to direct participants to parking options. Please follow their directions. COURSE The course is a level, crushed limestone surface, USA Track & Field certified, with marked miles. Aid stations will be located along the course and will provide basic first aid, water, Gatorade, and snacks. EMS will be onsite for medical emergencies. TIMING and RESULTS Racers will be Championchip timed by Runners High and results posted on www.runhigh.com. The MarathonPacing.com Pace Team will be back to pace runners in the 1/2 Marathon. AWARDS Medals will be awarded to the top three overall and age group finishers, men and women. An open division will award medals for the top three finishers and will include those who identify as nonbinary or prefer not to select a gender. Finisher medals will be given to those completing the 1/2 Marathon. Medals will only be available on race day. Participants are encouraged to stay for the awards ceremony or ask a friend or family member to retrieve it. EVENT SHIRTS All Half Marathon participants registered by midnight Sunday, March 29 will receive a long-sleeved technical fiber t-shirt. 5K participants registered by midnight Sunday, March 29 will receive a short-sleeved cotton t-shirt. Shirts will be given to all participants, but those who register after March 29 will have to wait until after the race to receive it. ACTIVITIES Music, food, and refreshments will be provided following the race. WEATHER Races will take place rain or shine. There is no rain date. If safety reasons necessitate a cancellation, notification will be posted on our web site by 5:00 a.m. Runner belongings can be stored at the trailhead during the event. -
