Runners will enjoy stunning views of the Quinnipiac River as they embark on this out-and-back course, which features one water stop at the halfway mark to keep everyone hydrated.
With a cap of 100 participants, this intimate race promises a friendly atmosphere where runners of all levels can come together. Proceeds from the event will support two worthy causes: the Wounded Warrior Project and the H.C. Wilcox National Honor Society. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers, adding an extra incentive to push your limits! Limited parking is available at Red Bridge and Dossin's Beach, with overflow parking at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School. Organiser's Description
This is the first Annual 5K Race hosted by the H.C. Wilcox National Honor Society Chapter. The race will begin at Dossin's Beach in Meriden, CT and continue along the Gorge Trail portion of the Meriden Linear Trail. The route is an out-and-back, with one water stop provided at the half-way point. The course includes scenic views of the Quinnipiac River. There is limited parking at the Red Bridge and Dossin's Beach. Overflow parking will be at H.C. Wilcox Technical High School.
Proceeds of the race will be divided between the Wounded Warrior Project (70%) and the H.C. Wilcox National Honor Society (30%).
Timing for the course will be manual (done by stopwatch), based on start time (no electronic timing). Results will be posted via google sheets at the conclusion of the race.
