Get ready for an exhilarating day of running at the 2026 Bridge & Trestle Half Marathon, taking place on Saturday, December 12th! This exciting event will be hosted entirely on the picturesque Virginia Creeper Trail, offering a stunning route from Damascus to Alvarado Station and back. Runners can look forward to a scenic 13.1-mile journey that combines the thrill of competition with the beauty of nature.
Race day kicks off with packet pickup starting at 8:30 AM, followed by the official race start at 10:00 AM. In keeping with our commitment to environmental sustainability, this year’s event will be cup-less, encouraging participants to use collapsible cups or their own hydration systems at the aid stations. After crossing the finish line, enjoy hot beverages and snacks while celebrating your achievement. This event is free and part of the State of Franklin Track Club’s Trail Series and Long Distance Series competitions. While traditional awards won’t be given, unique handmade mementos will be awarded to the overall male and female winners, the middle-of-the-pack finisher, and the final finisher. Join us for a fantastic day of camaraderie and community spirit on one of the most beautiful trails around!

The 2026 Bridge & Trestle Half Marathon (the 17 Mile Run will be back next year) will be held on Saturday, December 12th. The run will be entirely on the Virginia Creeper Trail from Damascus to Alvarado Station and back
Race day packet pickup will begin at 8:30AM and the race will start at 10:00AM. To continue our effort in keeping our beautiful trail clean and free of any trash, we're going cup-less again this year. To help with this effort, we will have easy to carry, collapsible cups at packet pickup. You will be able to use one of these cups (or your own hydration system) during the race at our aid stations. We will have hot beverages and snacks available at the finish.

Great run along the stunningly beautiful Virginia Creeper Trail! A "no frills" run hosted by the local club was great- lots of fun people just celebrating the fact that we are fortunate enough to be able to be together and run. The aid stations were convenient and stocked with essentials, the race director was organized and the whole race was very safely run. Volunteers were awesome and made sure to check in every runner passing to maintain accountability. Would definitely do it again!
