Organiser's Description
BRITTANY'S BELIEVERS 5K WALK & RUN
All proceeds go to the non-profit organization honoring Brittany Langridge with a Nursing Education Scholarship Fund
Brittany had such a passion for nursing and it came so naturally to her. Through generous sponsors and 1 event annually, we are able to grant multiple scholarships a year to local nursing school students.
OUR WHY
Brittany Langridge
Brittany was 33, wife to Justin, mommy to Jenson and Harlyn. She was one of the kindest and most loving people who always found the good in people. Brittany was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer in February 2019 after months of back and hip pain. A biopsy found her breast cancer was triple negative but she had hopes and faith for healing. She then found out it had spread to the Cerebral Spinal Fluid and had Leptomengial Disease/Cancer in April 2019. She was almost done with her bridge program for LVN to RN school when she was diagnosed. She fought so hard. She did many different chemo regimens and had many long hospital stays from the Leptomengial side effects. She had a shunt placed which helped to reduce the side effects of the fluid build up. She continued to be at any and every event/birthday/holiday possible. She also kept strong in her faith and had such a positive outlook! Brittany fought for 1 year and 1 day before she joined her savior Jesus in heaven. She is so very missed and 5 of her close friends decided a nursing scholarship would be a wonderful way to keep her memory alive and celebrate her in our community!
