COURSE MAPS: Please review the course maps before the race. It is your duty to know the course. The run course is marked with signs, cones and chalk. If you do not see a sign, cone or chalk/spray arrow keep going straight. There will also be volunteers on course as well.
FAQ:
WHAT TYPE OF BIKE CAN I USE? An expensive bike is not necessary. A bike with two wheels with brakes on each wheel. Road, mountain, hybrid, gravel, recumbent and triathlon bikes are allowed. Fixie bikes are not allowed. *Please note that you will be biking on country roads and may experience loose gravel.
WILL THERE BE TRAFFIC ON THE BIKE COURSE? This course will be on public roadways and are partially or fully shared with traffic. Watch out for cars pulling out of small streets or driveways. Volunteers will be posted at intersections to stop traffic as riders cross however you may experience a car driving by on main stretches. Ride defensively.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY TRANSITION GEAR? You must store all your gear in the transition area and enter the transition area between each leg of the race.
WILL THERE BE RESTROOMS OR LOCKER ROOMS AVAILABLE? Restrooms and locker rooms in the YMCA will NOT be available and closed to the public during the race. You are responsible for your items and recommend keeping non-race related items locked in vehicles. There will be porta-potties onsite for public use.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO PARTICIPATE? Yes, you must be at least 16 to participate.
ARE AWARDS GIVEN? All participants will receive a medal for their completion of the triathlon. There will be awards given to the overall first place male and female racers. Awards and medals will be passed out at the 5k finish line.
IS THERE SOMETHING FOR MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO DO WHILE I'M PARTICIPATING IN THE RACE? Yes! We will have inflatables, games, music, food trucks, and more onsite at the YMCA pavilion during and after the race. Activities are free but bring cash or card for food purchases. *PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A CHILD DROP OFF AREA. ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.
TRANSITION AREA/BIKE CORRAL
All equipment must be placed in the properly designated bike corral. All participants must return their bicycles to an upright position in designated bicycle corral. No person shall interfere with another participants equipment or impede the progress of another participant. No participants shall bring any glass containers into the transition area.
