The festivities kick off with packet pick-up at the Impression 5 Science Center, where participants can collect their race materials from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on race day. The Half Marathon and 5K races start at 8:00 AM along Michigan Ave, leading runners through picturesque routes and concluding at Rotary Park in downtown Lansing. Plus, all race participants will receive a stylish crew neck sweatshirt, a finisher's medal, and a stainless steel water bottle! The kids' race, set to begin at 11 AM, promises a day full of excitement, culminating in a pizza party at the Science Museum. 2025 MARKS THE 32ND ANNIVERSARY OF THE CAPITAL CITY RIVER RUNA COMPILATION OF FAMILY-FRIENDLY RACES THAT CELEBRATE, BUILD AWARENESS OF, AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORT GREATER LANSING ORGANIZATIONS THAT PROMOTE EDUCATION, THE DESIRE TO LEARN, AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLES. THIS EVENT SERIES PROVIDES A PREMIER RACING EXPERIENCE, HIGHLIGHTING THE NATURAL BEAUTY OF MICHIGANS CAPITAL CITY AND ADJOINING RIVERS.
The Capital City River Run makes a real impact within the community, benefiting Impression 5 Science Center and its mission to provide children and families access to science exploration through hands-on exhibits and participatory programming.
Annual races include a Half Marathon, 5K Walk/Run, and the Sohns Kids Race. All half marathon and 5K race participants receive a crew neck sweatshirt (your choice of two colors) and finishers medal. The race will be chip timed by the MICHIGAN RUNNING FOUNDATION [https://www.facebook.com/michiganrunningfoundation/] and you can check your results during the race and on the web at PLAYMAKERS.COM [https://www.playmakers.com/Events/Results.aspx].
The kids races will take place on Saturday, September 20 at 11AM at Impression 5 Science Center. The one mile race will take place on the Lansing River Trail. All participants will be invited to spend the day at the Science Museum and enjoy a pizza party after the event. Participants of the event will get a Stainless Steel Water Bottle and a finishers medal.
