This popular endurance event marks its 5th anniversary and invites participants to conquer the stunning Cary Parkway from end to end. Starting at Veterans Freedom Park on Harrison Ave, runners will traverse approximately 13.5 miles along Cary Parkway, culminating at the vibrant Tryon Village shopping center.
This unique challenge is not a timed race, but rather a test of endurance, encouraging participants to form teams and tackle the distance at their own pace. While transportation to and from the route is the responsibility of each team, several water stops along the way will keep everyone hydrated. After the challenge, join the fun at the Craft Public House for a well-deserved after party! Organiser's Description
It's time to take on the challenge again---2025 will be our 5th year taking on Cary Parkway from end to end!! The route starts at Veterans Freedom Park on Harrison Ave. and you run Cary Parkway to Holly Springs Road and then finish at Tryon Village shopping centerwhich finishes you at about 13.5 miles! Parking is limited at the start line and I highly recommend that you try to get dropped off--ALL transportation to and from anywhere on the route is your responsibility! Also, this is NOT a timed event, hence not a race, but an endurance challenge for the entire length of Cary Parkway! You may choose to make a team and break it up however you would like, but transportation and planned stops are up to your team.
We will have several water stops available along the route and this year the finish line is once again at Craft Public House in the Tryon Village center for the after party!!
The challenge will have a small fee and the option to purchase a t-shirt (available to order until 3/27) to commemorate your accomplishment!!
As this is a challenge (not sanctioned race), I must include the disclaimer that you will be participating at your own risk. The expectations are you will be responsible for preparing your body for this challenge and following all laws while on the route for your safety and well-being. The CRC is not liable for injuries and/or accidents that could occur, we will be on a main road with traffic and all runners and volunteers should be mindful of their surroundings.
