Join us for the exciting Cazenovia Preservation Foundation Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025, in beautiful Cazenovia, NY! This family-friendly event features a scenic 5K race and a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk along the picturesque Gorge Trail, with courses designed as out-and-back routes on a charming gravel converted rail-trail.
Runners and walkers can look forward to a professionally timed race setup, with staggered start times for both distances. The 5K kicks off at 9:30 AM, followed by the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:40 AM. Participants of all ages are encouraged to dress in their favorite Thanksgiving-themed costumes, making this a festive and fun-filled occasion. Additionally, we will be collecting non-perishable food donations for Caz Cares, so please bring along a canned food item to contribute! Join us on Thanksgiving morning for a family-friendly 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk on the Gorge Trail in Cazenovia, NY. Courses are out-and-back on a gravel converted rail-trail.
RACE SETUP:
* Professional Chip Timing
* Separate courses and staggered start times for 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. (Start location is the same for both.)
RACE FEES: PRE-REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FINAL DAY TO PRE-REGISTER IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25 AT 5 PM.
* $20 for CPF Members
* $25 for Non Members (to become a CPF member, go to cazpreservation.org/membership [https://www.cazpreservation.org/membership])
* $35 for day-of-race registrations for all runners/walkers ages 13 and up.
* Kids aged 12 and under are FREE.
RACE DAY DETAILS
* 8:00-9:00 AM: Pick up Race Bibs at check-in table.
* 9:30 AM: 5K Race Start (north-bound on the Gorge Trail).
* 9:40 AM: 1-mile Fun Run/Walk Start (south-bound on the Gorge Trail).
* 10:15 AM: Prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category (Men, Women, and Youth).
* COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! Wear your favorite Turkey Trot garb.
* We will be collecting non-perishable food for Caz Cares. PLEASE BRING A CANNED FOOD DONATION.
* There are NO BATHROOM FACILITIES at the trail head. Please take care of business before you arrive.
* NO DOGS OR STROLLERS PERMITTED ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.
