Women will lift 65 lbs, while men will tackle 135 lbs, with each successful rep deducting 5 seconds from their final time. The race course is USATF certified, ensuring a fair and competitive environment for all. Snacks and refreshments will be available at the University Fitness Center, where the fun begins! Organiser's Description
The Charger Pump & Run 5K on February 27, 2027 is a unique fitness event on the UAH Campus for college students and the local running community. This is a University of Alabama Homecoming weekend event open to all friends, family, alumni, and current students!
Race day registration & race day packet pick-up will begin at 7:45 AM, with the race itself starting at 9:00 AM. The course will the a USATF Certified 5K Course [https://certifiedroadraces.com/certificate/?type=r&id=3426]!
During race day registration & packet pick-up participants can complete bench-press reps to take time off their 5K finish time. Women will be asked to complete reps with a weight of 65lbs & men will complete reps with 135lbs. Each successful rep will deduct 5 seconds from their finish time. Participants will be able to complete reps until they fail or they re-rack the bar.
Snacks, water, and refreshments will be provided at the University Fitness Center where the race will start! We look forward to seeing you the Charger Pump & Run 5K!
