With a bicycle leading the way, you'll follow a clearly marked path through the scenic Fort Wayne trails network.
Dress in your best ninja suit, stylish tuxedo t-shirt, or simply a black t-shirt, as this is the one event that encourages everyone to don dark attire! Exciting awards will be given to the top male and female finishers, along with first place boy and girl (under 13), making it a competitive yet lighthearted atmosphere. Plus, bring along non-perishable kitchen items to support local families in need, as community spirit is at the heart of this event. Join the fun, connect with fellow runners, and make a difference while enjoying a fantastic day out!

CHASE THE SHADOW IS A FREE, UNTIMED FUN RUN/WALK/ROLL THAT IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF ALL FITNESS LEVELS.
HOW DOES IS WORK?
THE RULES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE. JUST FINISH THE 5K ROUTE BEFORE THE SHADOW.
PARTICIPANTS WILL FOLLOW A BICYCLE LEAD ON A ROUTE THAT FOLLOWS THE FORT WAYNE TRAILS NETWORK.
THE ROUTE WILL BE CLEARLY AND MARKED, BUT WE WONT HAVE POLICE PRESENCE SO BE SURE TO FOLLOW TRAFFIC LAWS AT ROAD CROSSINGS!
FUN TROPHIES GO TO THE FIRST PLACE MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS AND FIRST PLACE PLACE BOY AND GIRL (UNDER 13) FINISHERS.

We kindly ask participants to donate the following non-perishable food items:
Canned goods (vegetables, fruits, soups)
Pasta and rice
Cereal and oatmeal
Peanut butter and jelly
Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans)
Shelf-stable milk and juice
Donation Drop-Off Details
Participants can drop off their food donations at check in on race day.

Chase the Shadow will start and finish in West Swinney Park. Participants will follow a bicycle lead through the park and onto the sidewalks of Historic West Central Fort Wayne and back to West Swinney Park
