This untimed fun run, walk, or roll welcomes participants of all fitness levels to take on a thrilling 5K challenge. The goal? Finish the route before the shadow launches at 12:00 PM—it's a race against time and a fantastic way to stay active!
As you follow a bicycle leader along the beautifully marked Fort Wayne Trails Network, don your best ninja suit, stylish tuxedo t-shirt, or simply a black t-shirt, as participants are encouraged to dress in black for this unique event. Trophies will be awarded to the first place male and female finishers, as well as to the top boy and girl under 13. Remember to bring along non-perishable food items to support local families in need—every contribution helps! Come out for a fun day of fitness, community spirit, and a chance to make a difference!

CHASE THE SHADOW IS A FREE, UNTIMED FUN RUN/WALK/ROLL THAT IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF ALL FITNESS LEVELS.
HOW DOES IS WORK?
THE RULES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE. JUST FINISH THE 5K ROUTE BEFORE THE SHADOW.
PARTICIPANTS WILL FOLLOW A BICYCLE LEAD ON A ROUTE THAT FOLLOWS THE FORT WAYNE TRAILS NETWORK.
THE ROUTE WILL BE CLEARLY AND MARKED, BUT WE WONT HAVE POLICE PRESENCE SO BE SURE TO FOLLOW TRAFFIC LAWS AT ROAD CROSSINGS!
FUN TROPHIES GO TO THE FIRST PLACE MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS AND FIRST PLACE PLACE BOY AND GIRL (UNDER 13) FINISHERS.

WE WILL BE COLLECTING NON-PERISHABLE KITCHEN ITEMS TO HELP SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED. PLEASE BRING WHAT YOU CAN. EVERYTHING HELPS!

We kindly ask participants to donate the following non-perishable food items:
Canned goods (vegetables, fruits, soups)
Pasta and rice
Cereal and oatmeal
Peanut butter and jelly
Canned proteins (tuna, chicken, beans)
Shelf-stable milk and juice
Donation Drop-Off Details
Participants can drop off their food donations at check in on race day.
