Get ready for an exhilarating day at the CHASE THE SHADOW! FREE FUN RUN on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in the vibrant city of Fort Wayne, Allen. This untimed fun run, walk, and roll event welcomes participants of all fitness levels, making it a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with family and friends. With a limited registration of just 88 participants, this unique 5K race invites you to finish the course before "the shadow" takes off at 1:00 PM, with the race starting at 1:05 PM.
As you navigate the beautifully marked route along the Fort Wayne Trails Network, you'll be accompanied by a bicycle lead and encouraged to follow local traffic laws at road crossings. Don your best ninja outfit or a stylish black t-shirt, as participants are invited to dress in black for this exciting event! Awards will be presented at 2 PM, with fun trophies for the top male and female finishers, as well as the first boy and girl under 13. Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community spirit – all ages and athletic abilities are welcome! Don't forget to capture your adventure and share it on social media!

HOW DOES IS WORK?
THE RULES ARE PRETTY SIMPLE. JUST FINISH THE 5K ROUTE BEFORE THE SHADOW.
PARTICIPANTS WILL FOLLOW A BICYCLE LEAD ON A ROUTE THAT FOLLOWS THE FORT WAYNE TRAILS NETWORK.
THE ROUTE WILL BE CLEARLY AND MARKED, BUT WE WONT HAVE POLICE PRESENCE SO BE SURE TO FOLLOW TRAFFIC LAWS AT ROAD CROSSINGS!
FUN TROPHIES GO TO THE FIRST PLACE MALE AND FEMALE FINISHERS AND FIRST PLACE PLACE BOY AND GIRL (UNDER 13) FINISHERS.

Chase the Shadow will start and finish in West Swinney Park. Participants will follow a bicycle lead through the park and onto the sidewalks of Historic West Central Fort Wayne and back to West Swinney Park
