Join us for the 30th Anniversary Chesterfield Alumni Run on Thanksgiving Day, November 27th, 2025, at the beautiful Pocahontas State Park! This cherished community tradition promises to be an unforgettable homecoming as runners and their families gather to celebrate the spirit and legacy of the event founded by the late Coach Stan Morgan. Participants will have the opportunity to take on the classic 5K course that has become a beloved staple for alumni and community members alike, allowing everyone to relive cherished memories while making new ones.
In addition to the main race, the event features a Kids' Fun Run, where the first 50 young runners will be rewarded with our famous Gingerbread cookies at the finish line, adding to the festive atmosphere. Best of all, this is a FREE community event, with an optional donation to support the Stan Morgan Memorial Award, honoring the impact of a true local legend. So, dig out those school colors, reconnect with friends, and embrace the spirit of togetherness this Thanksgiving morning. We can't wait to see you there, celebrating 30 years of tradition and community spirit!

Hey everyone,
There are traditions so special they become the bedrock of our community. For us, the Chesterfield Alumni Run is one of them. It's the homecoming that kicks off our Thanksgiving, the one day we can all come together on the course that holds so many of our memories.
This year marks an incredible milestoneTHE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THIS RUN.
For the 28 years before us, the founders of this event, including the late, great Coach Stan Morgan, poured their hearts into creating this tradition. Last year, they honored us by passing the torch and entrusting us with the responsibility of carrying it forward. Its a duty we hold with immense respect, and our goal is simple: to ensure this legacy lives on for the next 30 years and beyond.
This Thanksgiving is more than just another run. Its a chance for all of us to come together and show what this tradition truly means. Its a chance to honor the founders, to celebrate our shared history, and to be a part of writing its next chapter. You will not want to miss being there for this one.

As the longtime, legendary coach at Midlothian High School and a co-founder of this very run, Coach Morgan's impact on our local running community is immeasurable. WHAT TO EXPECT ON THANKSGIVING MORNING
A HOMECOMING LIKE NO OTHER: This is the year to show up. Dig out those old school colors and reconnect with the teammates and friends that define your running journey.
THE HISTORIC COURSE: Take a lap on the same classic 5k course at Pocahontas we all know and love. Let the memories flood back!
FUN FOR THE NEXT GENERATION: The Kids' Fun Run is on! The first 50 youth will get their well-earned and renowned traditional Gingerbread cookie at the finish line.
POST-RUN CELEBRATION: Stick around after! We'll have some giveaways and, more importantly, time to just hang out as a community.

*T_he XC 5k starts in the front field of Pocahontas State Park and follows the Dominion District XC Course route. This is a FREE community event. The little kids run will take place in the front field only. _
_NOTE: Even though this is a FREE event, a $7 parking fee is required to enter Pocahontas State Park. Payment must be made at the park entrance contact station. Failure to pay the entrance parking fee can result in a $25 parking ticket._
