Organiser's Description
Christmas in July is back!
Weve reserved Picnic Shelter #2 at Mistletoe (at the end of Beach Dr.) for us to gather at. Well meet up to roll from there at 9am SHARP exit out the back entrance and head to Keg Creek. Well finish the ride by completing the Mistletoe loop then apres ride fun! Dont feel like you have to go the whole way thoughsome will be riding only Mistletoe. Well be grilling hot dogs after and well hang out by the lake! Families are welcome.
-THIS IS AN UNSUPPORTED 25ish MILE RIDE that will traverse a course consisting of predominantly single track mountain bike trails, plus some paved and unpaved surfaces. You must be completely self sufficient.
-A mountain bike is a must. Make sure your bike is in good working order and free of hazards. Flashing front and rear lights are highly recommended.
-Must have sufficient water capacity (Recommendation: 3L), emergency repair kit (multi-tool, chain quick link, tire levers, pump/CO2, tubes), cash, cell phone, and any nutritional necessities for a long ride.
-As it can be scorching HOT in July (and June), be sure you stay on top of your fluids...probably something to replenish salt and electrolytes.
-Entrance to the park is $5.
-Course will not be marked. Ill post a gpx file prior to the event.
-There will likely be no aid stations, but there is a church that we pass twice with a water spigot. If that ends up not being an option, weve been to the fire house on Ray Owens before.
Feel free to invite friends who are up for this epic ride! Everyone must officially register to participate.
