The festivities kick off at 8:00 a.m. with both the 5K and Fun Run starting together for the first half-mile. The 5K is chip-timed, with awards given for overall male and female winners, as well as top finishers in each age group. All Fun Run participants will receive a finishing medal, and every runner will be gifted a long sleeve dry-fit shirt. With a pet-friendly and stroller-friendly environment, this event is perfect for families and furry friends alike. Celebrate Veterans Day with the City of Valor 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run in Leeds, Alabama. Known as the City of Valor for its three Medal of Honor recipients, Leeds invites you to wear your most patriotic colors and run through its historic downtown streets. This run is more than just a raceit's a tribute to the brave veterans and all who have fought for our country. Join us in honoring their sacrifice and showing your support for the heroes in our community as we run together through the city that proudly carries their legacy.
Start time for both the 5k and the 1 Mile Fun Run is 8:00 a.m., and the two races will follow the same route for the first half mile. There will be police officers, volunteers, and signs to ensure that the runners are aware of where the two routes split. The 5K race is chip timed. Prizes for the 5K will be awarded for Overall Male and Female and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, in each age group. All Fun Run participants will receive a finishing medal.
