This beloved event, the longest-running race in Collier County, celebrates the legacy of CCPS running coach Mark McGarity, who inspired countless runners until his passing in the summer of 2021. Participants will enjoy a scenic 5-mile course, with water stops strategically placed to keep everyone hydrated.
All runners will receive a race T-shirt and finisher ribbons, while competitive spirits can vie for age group awards across numerous categories from ages 14 and under up to 85 and older. Registration is affordable, with students (21 & under) able to join for just $20, and adults enjoying early bird pricing of $40 until December 12. Don’t miss out on this chance to honor a great coach and enjoy a memorable race—packet pick-up begins at 6:45 AM, with the race kicking off at 8:00 AM. This is the longest running race in Collier County started by CCPS running coach and teacher, Mark McGarity. Unfortunately, Mark passed away in the summer of 2021, but his legacy continues with GCR continuing to stage his much beloved Marco Hill Run.
