Join us for the vibrant and uplifting Colorful Cancer Awareness event on Friday, October 10th, 2025, at Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, Stanly! This inspiring 5k/Fun Run/Walk invites participants of all ages to honor cancer fighters, survivors, and their loved ones while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Pfeiffer's cross-country course around the lake. Choose between the competitive 5k run or a more leisurely one-mile Fun Run/Walk, all while wearing the colors of the cancer cause you wish to support.
The event kicks off at 5:30 PM behind Merner Gym, and while there is no registration fee, donations are welcomed to support the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, which assists cancer patients in their rehabilitation journey. If you’d like to commemorate your participation with an event t-shirt, it is available for a nominal fee of $15. Come together as a community to promote awareness, spread positivity, and celebrate the strength of those affected by cancer!

The STANLY COUNTY FAMILY YMCA and PFEIFFER UNIVERSITY are proud to present a Colorful Cancer Awareness 5k/Fun Run/Walk on Friday, October 10th, 2025. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in a competitive 5k, or a one mile Fun Run/Walk on Pfeiffer University's scenic cross-country course around the lake. This event is to honor cancer fighters, survivors, those who have passed, and their families/friends. There is no fee for this event, but donations will be accepted to benefit the LIVESTRONG at the YMCA program, a cancer rehab program for cancer patients. If you wish to register for a t-shirt, there will be an add on fee of $15.00. We will meet starting at Pfeiffer University behind Merner Gym at 5:30pm on race day.
We ask that you wear a color of a cancer you wish to support, or dress colorful to represent all cancers! Here are a few examples of cancer ribbon colors:

Gray Ribbon - Brain Cancer
Purple Ribbon - Pancreatic Cancer
Orange Ribbon - Kidney Cancer
