Get ready for a wild ride at the Cottonmouth 8 Mile & Beerlay happening on Saturday, June 5, 2027, in the picturesque Greenville, South Carolina! This annual event promises an unforgettable blend of trail running, camaraderie, and, of course, beer! Participants can choose to take on the challenge solo or team up in relay groups of 2 to 4, tackling a total of 8 miles over four exhilarating laps around the scenic Lakewood Nature Preserve. Each lap includes a refreshing twist—runners must consume a randomly selected beer before hitting the trail, making this race as much about fun as it is about fitness!
Starting at 4:00 PM, the Cottonmouth Beerlay invites adults 21 and older to indulge in a unique race experience filled with laughter, competition, and plenty of surprises. With packet pickup beginning at 3:00 PM, participants can enjoy the lush, rolling hills of the 2-mile trail, complete with wildlife sightings and a rustic barn serving as the race HQ. After crossing the finish line, the festivities continue with post-race activities including pizza, music, and exciting yard games like beer pong and tug of war. YOU CAN RUN IT SOLO IF YOU'RE A ONE-PERSON PARTY MACHINE, OR GRAB A FEW BEER-LOVING BUDDIES AND TACKLE IT AS A RELAY TEAM OF 24. EITHER WAY, YOU'RE IN FOR 8 MILES OF PURE, RIDICULOUS FUN.

EACH LAP IS A 2-MILE TRAIL LOOP THROUGH THE PRESERVE. YOULL DO IT 4 TIMES TOTAL.
BEFORE EVERY LAP, RUNNERS MUST CONSUME A RANDOMLY-SELECTED BEER FROM THE BYOB COMMUNITY POOL
SOLO RUNNERS DO IT ALL THEMSELVES. RELAY TEAMS TAG IN ONE RUNNER PER LAP.
21+ ONLY FOR THE DRINKING PORTION, OF COURSE. MINORS AND SOBER FOLKS MAY RUN WITH NON-ALCOHOLIC ALTERNATIVES BUT MUST BE CARBONATED.
BYOB RUSSIAN ROULETTE (A COTTONMOUTH CLASSIC)
