This exciting 5-mile race is the grand finale of the Foothills Run Series, offering a thrilling course that combines nearly 3 miles of scenic single-track trail, 1.7 miles of natural field and gravel trail, and a touch of hardtop for variety. The race will start and finish at the Lenoir Rotary Soccer Complex, making it a perfect spot for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike.
The event kicks off at 7:30 AM with race day registration and packet pick-up, leading up to the official start at 9:00 AM. After crossing the finish line, participants can look forward to delicious post-race snacks, including a s'mores station and hot cocoa, while awards will be presented in a festive Dirty Santa style! With category awards for various age groups and special trophies for top finishers, there's plenty of excitement in store! WHEN THE WEATHER TURNS CHILLY, THE CRITTERS QUIT CRAWLING AND YOUR USUAL HARDTOP RUNNING ROUTES ARE GETTING A BIT TIRED AND BORING......ITS TIME TO VEER OFF THE ROAD AND KICK UP SOME DIRT ON THE TRAIL! IT'S TIME FOR THE SECOND ANNUAL DIRTY SANTA TRAIL RUN!
THIS 5 MILE RACE IS THE FIFTH AND FINAL EVENT IN THE FOOTHILLS RUN SERIES PRESENTED BY UNC ORTHO.
THE COURSE STARTS / FINISHES AT THE LENOIR ROTARY SOCCER COMPLEX AND IS MADE UP OF ALMOST 3 MILES OF SINGLE TRACK TRAIL (ZACK'S FORK MOUNTAIN BIKE TRAIL), NEARLY 1.7 MILES OF NATURAL FIELD / GRAVEL TRAIL AND AROUND .3 MILE OF HARDTOP JUST FOR SOME VARIETY!
