Now in its third edition, the 2025 Endless Mountains Adventure Race is heading north to the Green Mountain state! Over seven days, teams will get to explore the full expanse of what Vermont has to offer: rolling mountains, lush forests, majestic waterways, iconic gravel, and twisty single track on a course that calls to mind the Untamed New England expeditions of years past and pairs it with the classic Rootstock flair that you have come to expect from Endless.
This years race provides the perfect setting to challenge veteran adventure racers, and it offers an accessible entry point to those eager to take on their first expedition race. Teams of 2-4 will journey across some of the best adventureland that New England has to offer. Along the way, they will be called upon to work together to meet the challenges that only expedition racing can bring challenging overland navigation, wild terrain, sleepmonsters, and weather that can tame even the most hardened outdoor enthusiasts. It is in those moments where the best stories are written.

CLOSEDFULL COURSE ESTIMATES: Teams hoping to complete the full course (visiting all mandatory AND optional checkpoints) can expect to cover the following distances. Distance-specific estimates represent the cumulative distances for each discipline across multiple stages of the event. Most teams can expect to complete a shortened version of the course. Remember: route choice and navigational errors may result in different experiences and some extra miles! Total Distance: 475 miles (765 km) Total Biking: 290 miles (467 km) Total Trekking: 90 miles (145 km) Total Paddling: 90 miles (145 km) SHORT COURSE ESTIMATES: The Endless Mountains Adventure Race is designed to challenge the top races in the world, and at the same time provide an accessible entry point to the sport of expedition adventure racing. To that end, the course is made up of a series of mandatory and optional checkpoints. The mandatory points create the minimum distance that racers can cover in order to be an official finisher. Below, you will find the distances of that minimum mandatory course. While not reflected in these numbers, portions of this short course also involve faster and easier travel. Biking miles may be on pavement instead of trails; food travel may be on trails rather than overland; etc While there is still some impressive elevation, there is significantly less vertical gain on the short course as well (roughly 2/3 of the gain on the full course). Total Distance: 365 miles (587 km) Total Biking: 242 miles (390 km) Total Trekking: 65 miles (105 km) Total Paddling: 58 miles (93 km)
