On June 1st 2024 Come join us for the 2nd Annual FALCON Triathlon/Duathlon/Aquabike/Tri-Relay/5K and Youth Triathlon. The race(s) support the Cedar Crest High School and Middle School Cross Country/Track and Field Programs. As a USA Triathlon sanctioned event, the race is great for those looking to qualify for USAT Age-Group Nationals (top 2 in each Age Group qualify) or for those interested in doing their first race. Once you do one, youll be hooked!

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
TRIATHLON:

300 yd indoor pool swim - Swim in the Cedar Crest High School indoor pool. Swimmers will provide their expected finish time during registration and will be seeded from fastest to slowest times. Swimmers will start approximately every five seconds and will progress up and back 6 lanes until they reach the exit stairs. They will then head to the bike transition area which is approximately 100 yards from the pool exit.

13 mile Bike - The scenic bike course takes riders through the rolling farmlands of South Lebanon Township passing by Amish Farms and wide open views of the area before returning to Cedar Crest High School.

5k Run - The run leaves Cedar Crest and crosses the Lebanon VA Medical Center property into South Hills Park. The gravel/paved paths are ideal for all runners as the course is completely off of any public roads. Two water stations will be set up in South Hills at the 1 mile and 2 mile mark of the course. Runners return to Cedar Crest High School and finish where they started.

DUATHLON:

1.5 mile Run - The first run segment will begin near the Bike Transition area and consists of an out and back course which heads towards South Hills Park

AQUABIKE:
300 yd Swim - Same as Triathlon swim course. Swimmers will be seeded based on expected finish time and will start with all Triathletes
13 Mile Bike: Same as the Triathlon Course

TRI-RELAY:
Course is the same as the Triathlon segments. Each relay participant will switch their timing strap in the bike transition area. The biker will be waiting near their bike for the swimmer to hand over the timing strap, and then the runner will also wait near the bike rack for the biker to hand over their timing strap.

YOUTH TRIATHLON: Begins approximately 10:30am. Packet pickup Friday 5-7pm at CCHS gym lobby or Saturday 9:30-10am near Pool entrance.

Age 8 and under: 25 yd pool swim, 1/2 mile bike, 1/4 mile run (bike and run on Cedar Crest property)

Age 9-10: 50 yd pool swim, 1 mile bike, 1/2 mile run (bike and run on Cedar Crest property)

Ages 11-12: 100 yd pool swim, 2 mile bike, 1 mile run (bike and run on Cedar Crest Property)

OTHER INFORMATION:

* AS A USA TRIATHLON (USAT) SANCTIONED EVENT, PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE THEIR USAT MEMBERSHIP NUMBER DURING REGISTRATION. IF NOT A USAT MEMBER, ADULT PARTICIPANTS WILL HAVE TO PAY THE ONE-DAY LICENSE FEE OF $15 TO USAT. YOUTH 17 AND UNDER WILL PAY $10 FOR THE USAT ANNUAL YOUTH MEMBERSHIP WHICH CAN BE UTILIZED AT ANY USAT SANCTIONED RACES FOR A FULL YEAR.
* T-shirts will be provided to all racers who register by 5/15. Anyone registering 5/16 or later will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.
* Refreshments will be provided to all participants at the end of the race. There will be two water stations on the Run segment of the Triathlon as well as on both Run segments of the Duathlon. No water stations will be provided during the Bike segment so plan accordingly.
* The bike course is all on roads open to traffic. There will be volunteers and signs at most intersections marking the course, but all bikers must follow the rules of the road. Stop and yield to oncoming traffic.
* During registration, all swimmers will be asked to submit their expected completion time for the 300 yd swim. Swimmers will then be seeded from fastest to slowest and will begin the swim segment based on the bib number they received, lining up from Bib #1 to Bib #...
* Also during registration, please consider making a monetary donation in support of the Cedar Crest Cross Country/Track and Field Program. As a 501-C3 organization, all donations are fully tax deductible and support the students on both teams for equipment, meets, camps, gear, and end of season awards banquets.
