Organiser's Description
Fast and Furriest is a 50k virtual race where you and your dog walk, hike, or run a total of 50 kilometers (31 miles) on your own schedule, and at your own pace. Theres no need to complete the distance all at once. You can break it down into smaller activities and accumulate your distance over days or weeks.
It is strongly recommended dogs be at least 6 months of age.
HOW IT WORKS:
* Track your dog walks or runs
*
* Use any fitness tracker app to record your distance. Every walk, hike, or run with your dog counts!
* Two ways to log your progress
* Online Log: A link will be emailed and you must keep the online log up-to-date daily. (Google Drive Document)
* Paper Log: A paper log can be emailed or picked up at the Bridge Sports Complex. Paper logs must be turned in once you complete the race or by June 1st.
* Claim your reward
* Once you hit 50k, we will send you your rewards to commemorate you and your dogs accomplishment.

WHEN IT STARTS:
The Fast and Furriest - 50k Virtual Race will take place during the month of May 2027. You will have 31 days to complete 31 miles.
* Registration opens April 1st and will close May 10th.
* The race will officially begin May 1st and end May 31st.
* If you're late to the race, you will begin tracking your mileage from the date you registered.
WHATS THE COST:

* +$5 - 1 Human / 2+ Dogs
* +$5 - Have rewards mailed to your doorstep
OVERALL RESULTS:
* For those competitive human and dogs, the 2027 overall results will be posted in order of completion once the race is over.
* Any DNF's that attempted the race will be listed after the finishers in order based on most mileage.
* Any DNF's that attempted the race with 10+ miles will still receive their bandana.
DIVISIONS (NEW):
Top 3 human finishers in each division will earn free registration into next year's race.
* Standard Division - Medium +
* Lap Division - Small, Toy, 20 lbs or less
* SENIOR DIVISION - 8+ years
* Senior dogs will automatically be entered into both their Size Division and the Senior Division, but may only place in one division to give more participants the opportunity to win free registration.
* LEGENDARY DIVISION - 12+ yearsIf at any time during the race you do not think your dog can finish the entire 31 miles, the dog can switch to the Legendary Division. You may reach out to us to determine an obtainable and challenging goal to earn your finisher medal and legendary certificate of completion however the dog will not have the chance to place and will be placed in order after the 50k finishers in the overall results. Please use your judgement.

THE MEMORY MAKER - Send 5 or more photos of your run/walks throughout the month.
THE BUDDY SYSTEM - Run/walk with a buddy.
* Buddy can be dog or human.
* Buddy does not have to be part of the race.
THE GOOD SMARTIAN - Pick-up trash either on your run/walk or spend some time before or after picking up a few pieces of trash.
THE TRAILBLAZER - Go to either 3 different parks , or 5 different locations.
THE LONG HAUL - Complete a 5 mile run/walk.
* Lap breeds or older dogs may complete this task in 3 miles.
* Use your judgement and make this a rewarding challenge.
Once registered please send us your favorite photo of your furry friend. We would like to make a photo album of our participants.
The Fast and Furriest - 50k Virtual Race is affiliated with the Bridge Sports Complex. The race is open to anyone regardless of location, however an online waiver to the facility is required when registering.
Certificate of Completion, Bandana, and Dog T-Shirt is one per dog. Finisher Medal, Sports Performance T, Car Decal and Bag Dispenser is one per human.
