Join us for the 13th annual Finley 5K for SIDS on Saturday, August 2, 2025, in Georgetown, Scott! This inspiring event continues to grow each year as we come together to raise awareness and funds for vital research into Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Participants can choose between an in-person race or a virtual option, making it easy for everyone to get involved, no matter where you are located.
The Finley 5K was established in memory of Finley William Ellison, who tragically lost his life to SIDS. Since its inception in 2013, the race has raised over $300,000 to support researchers at Boston Children's Hospital and Seattle, dedicated to uncovering the causes of this devastating syndrome that affects more than 3,000 infants annually. Join us in making a difference and help us continue this important mission while enjoying a fun and uplifting day with friends and family!

We look forward to hosting the 13th annual Finley 5K and hope you can join us on Aug 2nd 2025. The race continues to grow, and inspire and we cant thank you enough for supporting us. We will have both a in person race, and an virtual option for wherever you may be located. Help us continue the effort to fund research to one day find the cause of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
OUR HISTORY:
THE FINLEY 5K WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2013 AFTER THE PASSING OF FINLEY WILLIAM ELLISON TO SIDS. PROCEEDS FROM THE RACE GO TO THE FINLEY FOUNDATION WHICH IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION THAT RAISES MONEY FOR RESEARCH INTO SIDS, WHICH TAKES THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 3000 INFANTS EACH YEAR. THE 5K TO DATE HAS SENT OVER $300,000 TO RESEARCHERS AT BOSTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL AND SEATTLE WHO ARE ACTIVELY TRYING TO FIND A CAUSE AND CURE TO SIDS.
