FireK 24 is a 5K or 10K run and a super fun event the entire family will enjoy!! Our day begins when the 10K starts at 9:00 a.m. and the 5K starts at 9:15 a.m. There are fire apparatus on display, fire related activities for the kids, Super Heroes, a "Kid's Fun Zone" a live DJ, FREE hotdog lunch, a "Kid's Fun Run", Trophies, Door Prizes, and too much more to list!!! Join us October the 7th at Columbia county's own "Lady A Pavilion" at 7016 Evans Town Center Dr., Evans, GA 30809.
Firefighters are encouraged to signup as teams to compete in the 5K for a bragging rights trophy and an awesome prize!!
CANCER HAS BECOME THE LEADING CAUSE OF DEATH FOR FIREFIGHTERS!
Between 2002 and 2017 61% of firefighter deaths were attributed to occupational cancer. FIREFIGHTERS have a 9 % greater chance of getting cancer than their civilian counterparts, and a 14% increased risk of dying from that cancer.
