The day kicks off with a chip-timed 5K run/walk at 8:00 a.m., followed by a family-friendly 1K walk at 8:45 a.m. Both races are designed to be inclusive, with the 1K being wheelchair, wagon, walker, and stroller friendly. Children aged 5 and under can participate for free, making this a perfect outing for families! Participants will be awarded medals upon finishing, with special prizes for the top male and female finishers in various age categories.

Life is beautiful and we desire for all to Flourish & Thrive! Join FOUNTAIN OF LIFE [https://www.fountainoflifekc.org/] for our inaugural FLOURISH & THRIVE 5K/1K on Saturday, July 19, 2025 by attending in-person or virtually! Fountain of Life is a nonprofit senior community center that supports Kansas City metro families impacted by limited English proficiency. Fountain of Life offers a safe place and warm community for seniors to build friendships and access health resources, aging services and mental health supports. Our staff and volunteers are multilingual and passionate about enhancing the quality of life for seniors. Supports are available in English, Burmese, Chinese, Hmong, Korean and Vietnamese.
This event seeks to raise friends and funds to further the mission of Fountain of Life. Our 5K begins at 8:00 a.m. followed by our 1K at 8:45 a.m. The in-person 5K is a chip-timed run/walk. The in-person 1K walk is a non-timed family oriented option that is wheelchair, wagon, walker and stroller friendly. Children age 5 and under may participate for free. (Please contact us at [email protected] for a special code to register a child 5 and under for free.) All participants may order a t-shirt separately from the race registration fee.
RACE AWARDS
All 5K and 1K race finishers will receive a medal at the finish line. Prizes will be given to the overall top female and top male finisher of the in-person 5K. Prizes will be given to top 3 female and top 3 male finishers of the in-person 5K for age groups: 6-7, 8-10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. Children age 5 and under may participate for free, but are not eligible for prizes.

Individuals who have not registered and signed a race waiver are not allowed on the race route.
The event is going to be held at the Aspiria campus (formerly the Sprint headquarters) in Overland Park and runs through the beautiful tree-lined streets of their campus. There is plenty of parking available and a grassy pre- and post-event area for participants to gather.

By registering to be a virtual participant of Fountain of Life's Flourish & Thrive 5K / 1K, you are committing to completing a 5K or 1K run/walk at a location of your choice on Saturday July 19, 2025 between 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. CST. All virtual participants will be mailed a finisher's medal upon showing proof of run/walk completion. Registrants may order a t-shirt separately from the race registration fee.
