Get ready for an exciting season of running with the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Youth Running Club, kicking off on April 7, 2026, in the beautiful Winchester, Frederick area! Designed for young athletes aged 7 to 14, this program is perfect for all experience levels. Over the course of the season, which runs until June 11, participants will focus on building endurance, improving running form, and making the sport enjoyable and rewarding.
Join us twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the parking lot of Redbud Elementary or the Rotary Shelter at Sherando Park. Young runners will also have the chance to participate in thrilling local races, including the Kids' Bloomin' Mile on May 1, the Loudoun Street Mile on May 25, and the Glow All Out 5K on July 17, along with a $10 discount for the Sherando Youth Triathlon on August 2. With an emphasis on proper technique, dynamic stretching, pacing strategies, and teamwork, this is a fantastic opportunity for kids to stay active and make new friends while having a blast! Don't forget to bring running shoes, water, and a healthy snack to keep energized.

Were excited to welcome young runners ages 714, no matter their experience level. This session focuses on building endurance, improving form, and making running fun and rewarding for everyone.
