Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Youth Running Club! This exciting event kicks off on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and runs through Thursday, June 11, 2026, in beautiful Winchester, Frederick. Designed for young runners aged 7 to 14, this program welcomes all experience levels and focuses on building endurance, improving running form, and fostering a love for the sport.
Participants will have the opportunity to register for several thrilling local races, including the Kids' Bloomin' Mile on May 1, the Loudoun Street Mile on May 25, and the Glow All Out 5K in mid-July. Additionally, club members will enjoy a $10 discount on the Sherando Youth Triathlon happening in early August. Throughout the season, runners will learn essential techniques such as proper running form, dynamic stretching, pacing strategies, and the importance of teamwork, all while having a blast. Practices will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the parking lot of Redbud Elementary. Don't forget to bring your running shoes, water, and a healthy snack to keep your energy up! Join us for an unforgettable running adventure!
