Race day kicks off bright and early with packet pick-up from 7:00 AM to 8:15 AM at the Nature Center, followed by the race starting promptly at 8:30 AM. Participants can enjoy refreshments and an awards ceremony post-race, where prizes will be awarded to the top male and female overall runners and walkers, as well as age group winners. Don’t miss out on the chance to receive a race shirt by registering before April 3, 2026! The Friends of McCormick's Creek are pleased to host their 20th annual 5K road race on Saturday, April 18th. THIS IS A MAG 7 SERIES RACE. It's a fast course with rolling hills in McCormick's Creek State Park. Proceeds will be used to develop and support projects and events that help preserve, restore, manage, and interpret the natural and cultural heritage and recreational opportunities of McCormicks Creek State Park. PACKET PICK-UP IS 7:00AM-8:15AM at the Nature Center on race day. THE RACE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 8:30AM. Refreshments and an awards ceremony follow the race.
Prizes are given to top male and female 5K overall runners and walkers. Awards granted to top 2 age group winners in 5K Run and first age group winners in 5K Walk. THOSE REGISTERING BEFORE APRIL 3, 2026, CAN RECEIVE A RACE SHIRT. SHIRTS ARE AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST AFTER APRIL 2ND. Race-day registration (cash or check only) will be $30 beginning at 7:00am at the Nature Center on April 18, 2026.
POST-RACE PANCAKES AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST AVAILABLE FOR $5. PLEASE PURCHASE BEFORE 4/15/2026 SO WE KNOW HOW MUCH TO BUY!
SEVERE WEATHER POLICY: When thunder is heard or lightning is seen, race start will be delayed for 20 minutes. Subsequent thunder or lightning after the beginning of the initial 20-minute count will reset the clock for another 20-minute count. Race can be postponed a maximum of 75 minutes at which point it will be canceled. No refunds for weather cancelations.
