Kick off the New Year with a healthy and fun-filled day at the 10th Annual Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, Kentucky! Join us on Friday, January 1, 2027, at 2 PM for an exhilarating run through the historic streets of Midway. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a great way to start 2027, this event offers both a 5K and a 10K race option, along with a 1-mile fun run/walk and a kids' 1K.
The race will begin and end at Walter Bradley Park, with Race Headquarters located at Northside Elementary School. Participants will enjoy a commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt, chip timing by RaceRise, and awards for overall and age group winners. After the race, warm up with delicious Berserker Brew Coffee and hot cocoa while enjoying music from our DJ, free race photos, and a chance to win in the "Best Finish Line Photo" contest. Plus, by bringing canned goods to the event, you can help support the Midway Ministerial Association and those in need in our community. KICK OFF THE NEW YEAR WITH A HEALTHY START IN HISTORIC MIDWAY, KY!
Join us for the 10TH ANNUAL FROZEN RAILS 5K & 10K in Midway, KY on THURSDAY, JANUARY 1, 2027 at 2pm. Kick off the new year with a healthy start at this run/walk event through the historic town of Midway. Our races will start/finish at Walter Bradley Park with our Race Headquarters at Northside Elementary School.
Commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt, Chip Timing by RaceRise, Overall & Age Group awards, Berserker Brew Coffee & hot cocoa, DJ, free photos (Thanks Ruby!) and a "Best Finish Line Photo" Contest. We will also have an untimed 1-mile fun run/walk and kids' 1K.
Partial proceeds will benefit the Midway Ministerial Association. The Midway Ministerial Association is a collaborative effort involving 7 Midway area churches (Midway Christian Church, Midway Baptist Church, Midway Presbyterian Church, St. Matthews AME Church, Midway United Methodist Church, Historic Second Christian Church, and Pilgrim Baptist Church) who provide support and funding for those in need in their community.
We are pleased to have Berserker Brew Coffee join us for the 2025 Frozen Rails. They will be serving coffee and hot chocolate to help keep you warm!

* Pickup for friends & family is encouraged. No credentials, paperwork or ID necessary. All local runners are encouraged to pick up Wednesday or Thursday.
VIRTUAL RUNNER/WALKER OPPORTUNITY If you're not able to join us in person but still wish to support our cause, you can sign up as a Virtual Runner/Walker, and we'll mail your shirt and bib. Then (if you want) you can do your own Frozen Rails 5K or 10K on your own timeline in your own hometown. The cost of this option is $30.
CANNED GOOD DRIVE Bring canned or non-perishable goods to either packet pickup or the race, and we'll see that they get distributed to those in need through the Midway Food Pantry. Thanks for your support!
BEST FINISH LINE PHOTO CONTEST We'll select one lucky winner of our "Best Finish Line Photo" to win a free registration to a future RaceRise race, so get ready for that finish line pic!
