Organiser's Description

Each year, Fort Huachuca hosts the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) and Sch"utzenschnur qualification. This annual exercise sustains morale and positive relations between our German Liaisons and the personnel of 111th Military Intelligence Brigade. The 2024 iteration of the GAFPB will consist of four events throughout five days to build comradery. The Sch"utzenschnur is only a one-day marksmanship event. Both events are executed in partnership with the United States Army and German Bundeswehr Liaisons.

The German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) and Sch"utzenschnur is your chance to earn a highly coveted foreign award.

All permanent party members on Fort Huachuca are eligible to signup for the chance to compete for these awards. The details on each event are below:

Sch"utzenschnur:

Eligibility:
-Participants cannot be flagged or violate a physical profile pertaining to the movements of the event.

Sch"utzenschnur Event Breakdown:

September 23: Range 2 (0530-1500) - Pistol/Rifle Qualification.

Uniform: OCPs, Eye/Ear Pro, ACH, and Full Body Armor required.

GAFPB:

Eligibility:
-Participants cannot be flagged or violate a physical profile pertaining to the movements of the events.
-No non-swimmers!
-Must be CLS and CBRN certified (need certificate of completion) within the last three years. If your certifications are not current, or you cannot produce a certificate, you must complete the prerequisite training sessions:

Medical Test (must attend if CLS certificate is not within three years): September 4, 11, and 18 (0500-0630) / (0630-0800).

CBRN Test (must attend one): Warrior Sentinel Field September 4, 11, and 18 (0500-0530)/(0530-0600)/(0600-0630).

Swim Practice (optional): Barnes Field House Pool (0500-0900) - September 3, 9, and 16. There will be a swim instructor on site to coach good techniques on of the GAFPB.

GAFPB Daily Events Breakdown:
September 24: Range 2 (0530-1500) - Pistol Qualification.

Uniform requirements: OCPs, Eye/Ear Pro, ACH, and Full Body Armor required.

September 25: Barnes Field House Pool (0500-0900) - 100-meter Swim in Uniform.

Uniform Requirements: Stripped OCPs with Army Summer PTs underneath.

September 26: Bujowski Field (next to Barnes Fieldhouse) (0500-1100) - 11x10-meter Sprint Test, Chin-Up Test, and 1000-meter Run Test.

Uniform: Army PTs.

September 27: 6, 9, or 12 km Ruck March (0430-0700)

Uniform: OCPs with a 33lb dry weight rucksack.

September 27: GAFPB Awards Ceremony Cochise Theater (1500-1600).
