Organiser's Description
FREE for current Club Spinistry members! Not yet a Club Spinistry member? You can apply the signup fee towards a 12 month membership. Details will be in your confirmation email.
Challenge yourself to complete 1000 miles of gravel from the beginning of Daylight Saving Time 2024 to the end of Standard Time 2025 (3/10/24-3/8/25). You can begin logging miles at any time after the start of Daylight Saving Time in 2024.
Keep in mind that this is a personal challenge, not a competition. If you "cheat" you are only cheating yourself. How many miles of gravel do you want to log? We're here to help you do it. Club Spinistry membership includes free entry to almost all of our single day gravel events, club rides and clinics. We also have an exclusive library of over 2000 gravel routes throughout the United States. Come Join Us!
Joining this challenge will also move you closer towards the front of the line for updates and news around new Spinistry events and benefits. Typically, Club Spinistry members will receive first notice of news, Gravel 1000 riders will be next and then announcements to the general public.
THE "RULES":
Please make every reasonable attempt to log actual unpaved, gravel/dirt road/trailway mileage. No, it doesn't need to be exact but if you ride a 50 mile ride that is only half unpaved please log 25 miles, not 50.
Only count mileage ridden during the designated time frame. Do not bring mileage from rides previous to 3/10/24.
The 1000 Mile Challenge will "simulate" our RAT 1000 route from Texarkana, AR to Tucumcari, NM. Achievements will be unlocked based on key waypoints along that route. Yes, you are welcome to keep logging miles after 1000.
In support of Gravel 1000 Spinistry will be organizing (and riding along) Weeknight Pop-Up Gravel Rides based on our travel schedule, weather and general availability. The plan is to offer rides of at least 20 miles to help meet the weekly goal but folks are welcome to ride further or shorter as appropriate. We will be riding at Party/Beginner Support pace and we welcome pace leaders for higher tempos as well.
