Join us for the inspiring "Gravel for George" fundraiser on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Rocky Point, Pender. This exciting gravel cycling event is dedicated to helping George Saunders IV on his road to recovery after a life-altering accident. With two fantastic race distances to choose from, participants can tackle the Long Course of 54.6 miles or the Short Course of 32.5 miles, both set in the beautiful Holly Shelter Game Land where George has celebrated four victories.
This event not only offers a chance to experience the official course but also provides a wonderful opportunity to unite the cycling community in support of a fellow rider. There will be one aid station at Mile 25, ensuring you stay hydrated as you ride. Bring your own race nutrition and gear, and let’s make this a memorable day filled with camaraderie and purpose. Come out, have fun, and help George in his recovery journey while enjoying the thrill of gravel racing!

Organiser's Description
On February 23, 2024 George Saunders IV was struck by a van that was traveling 60 mph while he was on a training ride. The suspect did not stop; leaving George stuck in a ditch for 40 minutes with many broken bones in his ribs, leg, neck, and back (in 6 places). His L1 and L3 vertebrae were crushed, requiring emergency spinal cord surgery. George spent 17 1/2 days in the hospital learning how to walk again. With the suspect still on the loose, George is forced to pay expensive medical bills without being able to work. Without Limits is teaming up with City Bicycle Company to host a gravel fundraiser to help George in his recovery. The event will be held at George's favorite place to race/train where he has claimed 4 victories: Holly Shelter Game Land. The 2 courses available will be the same courses raced in July at the Holly Shelter Gravel Grinder. This is a perfect way to get to know the official course, have a great time, and help a fellow cyclist.

AID STATION
There will be ONE Aid Station in the race for BOTH courses. The Aid Station is at Mile 25 at the end of Juniper Road. We will have bottled water, but please bring your own race nutrition. It is advised to bring a Camel-bak for water. Please also bring extra tubes, tire levers, and a co2/hand pump. NO LITTERING!
