Join us for the 17th Annual Greely Hockey 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 28, 2024, in beautiful Cumberland, Maine! This exciting event features a flat and fast 5K (3.1 miles) USATF certified course that starts on Main Street in front of Greely High School and finishes on the Greely track. Not only is this a fantastic opportunity to get active and enjoy the holiday spirit, but it's also a chance to support the Greely Hockey Boosters, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing girls and boys ice hockey programs in the region.
Participants of all ages are welcome, with awards given to overall race winners and top finishers in various age groups. Plus, the first 150 registrants will receive a special t-shirt, so be sure to sign up early! Children aged 8 and under can participate at no cost, making this a wonderful family-friendly event. Remember, registration prices increase on race day, so secure your spot before midnight on November 27th. 17TH ANNUAL GREELY HOCKEY THANKSGIVING DAY 5K ROAD RACE
Proceeds of this race benefit the Greely Hockey Boosters - a non-profit organization that supports, encourages, and advances the girls and boys ice hockey programs of MSAD #51.
Course: 5K (3.1 miles) Flat, residential, USATF certified course. See course map by clicking here: ME22004JK
Race begins on Main Street in Cumberland, Maine in front of Greely High School. The race finishes on the Greely track.
Awards:
Overall race winners (both male and female) as well as the top finishers in each of the following age groups: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 3039, 4049, 5059, 60-69, 70+
Winners will receive a freshly-baked pie of their choice graciously donated by Toots in North Yarmouth
First 150 registrants receive a t-shirt, so register early!
Children age 8 and under may show up and run at no cost. If your child wants to be timed and wants to be eligible for a t-shirt, registration is required.
Please no dogs. No bikes or rollerblades. Strollers are allowed.
On-line registration will remain open until 7:45am the morning of the race. Pre-registered runners have the option to pick up their bibs on Tuesday, November 21st in the Greely High School cafeteria between 3:30-7pm.
For those who register after Tuesday, November 26th at 7pm or if you do not come to packet pick-up, you will need to check in at the Greely High School cafeteria the morning of the race between 7-7:45am to get your bib assignment.
Registration prices increase race day to $25 for students and $30 for adults, so register before midnight on 11/27.
All runners must register themselves online prior to the race. There will be no on-site registration or payments by cash or check as was done in previous years. Be sure to visit the race registration site to secure your spot!
