**Great River Road Road Race (GRRRR)**
Saturday, October 2, 2027 . 8:30 a.m. . Pikes Peak State Park, McGregor, Iowa
The Great River Road Race returns to Pikes Peak State Park, one of Northeast Iowa's most scenic settings, high on the bluffs above the Mississippi River. Choose the 5K or the 10K. Runners and walkers of every pace are welcome, and so are strollers and dogs.
Both courses are USATF-certified: the 5K (certification # IA 24009MF) and the 10K (certification # IA 24008-M). Every participant is chip-timed.
**The Course**
The race follows its traditional route. Starting from the park's parking lot, you'll head west on Pikes Peak Road to the Great River Road, turn south, and continue to the 5K or 10K turnaround before returning along the same route to the finish. Expect a fun, fast course with gently rolling hills.
**After the Race**
Stay for the awards presentation and a complimentary, untraditional pancake breakfast.
Proceeds benefit the Alexander McGregor Endowment supporting the Greater McGregor area.
