Taking place at the picturesque Smith Park, located at 338 Cleveland Street, this community biking extravaganza pays homage to Menasha's rich biking history, including the legendary Otto Grunski Biking Classic.

Join fellow biking enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels for a day packed with fun and friendly competition. Challenge yourself in the Community Criterium, racing around the park for 20 minutes, or take part in the whimsical Novelty Bike 1 Mile, where you can ride anything from a mini-bike to a unicycle! The event also features a Kid's Crit for young cyclists aged 4-10, ensuring everyone can join in on the action. With registration available on-site starting at 8:00 AM and a variety of biking activities throughout the park, the Otto Grunski Bikeski promises to be a memorable day for the whole family. Organiser's Description

Join us in celebrating the City of Menasha's 150th anniversary with a nostalgic community biking event! Menasha has a long history of biking, holding the Otto Grunski Biking Classic from 1973-2002 and home to the man himself, creator of the very first version of the bike which he named the BONESHAKER! Bikers will race the perimeter of the park in our version of a community criterium, learn about Otto Grunski's history and join in on all the biking fun happening at the park! All biking event categories are community friendly meant for all abilities to participate in. This is not a sanctioned race.

Please note: Online Registration Closes Friday 9/27 at Noon for all biking events. In Person registration will be available at the Pavilion at Smith Park starting at 8:00AM 9/29 if space in an event is still available.



Community Criterium: Race the perimeter of the park seeing how many laps you can complete in 20 minutes! Ages 16+



Novelty Bike 1 Mile: You choose what Novelty Bike you are going to race in this spectacle of sport! Race your mini-bike, unicycle, penny-farthing, tandem or more, in this mixed up one heat adventure. Will you be the first to cross the finish line or the crowd favorite? Novelty Bike 1 Mile is not a timed event. All Ages



Kid's Crit: 1/4 mile bike ride, parade style! Ages 4-10 Heats at 10AM and 11AM. Memorial Building 640 Keyes Street Menasha





Fill your morning with all kinds of biking fun with other events within the park!

Otto Grunski Bikeski being presented by Menasha Parks and Recreation and Menasha Sesquicentennial Committee. Proceeds of the Otto Grunski Bikeski go to Menasha Parks and Recreation Parks Fund for future Menasha park improvements and events.

    Participants of Community Criterium must check-in at 8:30AM at Smith Park Pavillion to be chipped and assigned a wave. Preliminary Waves from 9AM until 1050 AM. Participants will have a maximum of 20 minutes to complete as many laps around the perimeter of Smith Park as possible. Winners will be determined by quickest time completing highest lap count. (each lap is approximately .88 mile) Winners of preliminary heats will be guaranteed a placement in the final heat. All other final placements are based on overall lap and timing across waves. Final Heat will begin at 12:00PM Award Ceremony to follow! Participants of Community Crit will receive race day goodies sponsored by Menasha based businesses, a sweet treat from The Sweet Lair, a commemorative button and a chance at the Grunski Trophy!
  • Novelty Bike Crit

    Calling All Novelty Bike Riders, this one's for you. Bring your mini-wheel, crazy coaster, penny-farthing, unicycle, tandem, and more to show off during this one lap bike ride. Show off your unique bike and answer questions if you'd like before and after the Novelty Crit! Novelty Crit participants will make one lap around Smith Park approximately 1 Mile distance. Participants of the Novelty Crit will receive a commemorative button and a chance at the novelty trophy!

Kids crit waves will be determined day-of based off registration. All Kids crit participants will need to check-in by 10:50AM where you will then be assigned a wave. Participants of the Kids crit will receive commemorative finisher button.
