THE HAWK CHIEF RUN IS AN ANNUAL EVENT HELD DURING THE PAWNEE INDIAN VETERANS HOMECOMING TO HONOR THE MEMORY OF HAWK CHIEF, A NOTED PAWNEE SCOUT AND RUNNER. HAWK CHIEF, ALSO KNOWN AS KUTAWIKUCU RESARU, WAS A PAWNEE SCOUT FOR THE UNITED STATES ARMY AND IS BEST KNOWN FOR RUNNING THE FIRST SUB-FOUR-MINUTE MILE DURING HIS TIME IN SERVICE.
THIS EVENT IS A 5K RUN AND 1-MILE FUN WALK. REGISTRATION IS FREE AND OPEN TO ANYONE; ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!
