Join us for the second annual Heath Golf & Yacht Club Turkey Dash on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 28th, 2024, in Rockwall! This exciting community event features a fun-filled Kid's 1K at 8:00 AM and a challenging 5K at 8:15 AM, promising a fantastic way to kick off your holiday celebrations while supporting a worthy cause. Last year, the event raised $3,000 for Linda Lyons Elementary School, and this year, all race proceeds will benefit Helping Hands of Rockwall County, an organization dedicated to assisting families in need.
The Kid's 1K offers a delightful out-and-back route from the Clubhouse, while the 5K course takes participants on a scenic loop through the neighborhood, making it suitable for runners of all skill levels. Every child who completes the 1K will receive a medal, and there will be awards for the top finishers in the 5K across various age groups. Plus, all registrants will take home a commemorative T-shirt, celebrating their spirit of giving on this special day. Heath Golf & Yacht Club is putting on our second annual fun run on Thanksgiving morning. Last year we were able to donate $3000.00 to Linda Lyons Elementary School. However, we have a new beneficiary this year, Helping Hands of Rockwall County. All race proceeds will go to this organization who help families going through difficult times. It will feature a Kid's 1K at 8:00 AM and a 5K at 8:15. The Kids 1K will be out and back from the Clubhouse, the 5K will circle a loop going east on Governor's Drive, north on Trophy and west back to Clubhouse on Governor's Drive.
Each Kid will receive a medal after finishing the 1K. There will be overall female and male awards in the 5K, and age group awards: 1-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, and 60-99, first place will receive gold, second silver and third bronze colored golf balls. Results will be posted at the race site and on RunSignUp, the Kid's 1K will not be timed but the top 3 boys and girls will be acknowledged.
Each registrant will receive a fun T-shirt to commemorate their efforts and helping give back to others on Thanksgiving morning.
There will be a packet pickup Wednesday, November 27th at the clubhouse from 4:00-7:00 PM and also on race day morning from 7:00-7:50 AM.
