Join the Holiday Scavenger Hunt Fun Run on Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the charming city of Winchester! This festive event is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season while getting active and having fun with friends and family. Participants of all ages are invited to form teams of 2-4 runners or walkers and embark on a spirited adventure, searching for holiday-themed items scattered throughout the area.
Teams will have one hour to race against the clock, snapping photos of the items they find, with points awarded for each discovery. To make the event even more magical, we encourage everyone to light up the night with reflective clothing and festive accessories, adding a joyful glow to the celebration. After the hunt, join fellow participants at Piccadilly's Public House for a social gathering, where the winning team will be announced and awarded a special prize. Don’t miss out on this unique blend of exercise, community spirit, and holiday cheer!

Organiser's Description
Frederick County Parks and Recreation is once again partnering with Runners' Retreat [https://runnersretreat.com/] to bring a fun twist to one of their Thursday evening group runs! The Holiday Scavenger Hunt Fun Run is a great way to celebrate the holiday season while getting some exercise. Participants of all ages will run/walk while searching for holiday-themed items along the way. Teams will have one hour to run around, find and take photos of items then return to Runners Retreat. After, we will have a social get together at Piccadilly's Public House (drinks and food on your own) and announce the winning team who will receive a prize!
Details:
. Teams will consist of up to 2-4 runners/walkers.
. Each team will receive a list of items with assigned points.
. Teams must stay together for the entire run. Once you find an item, take a photo and be sure to include your team members in the photo.
Some items have BONUS points, so be sure to try to score extra!
. Make sure at least one person on the team will be running with a running watch and a phone (with space for photos!).
. Start your watch as soon as you leave the store and don't hit stop until you return! Be sure to let the event leaders know your team's final distance.

We encourage each participant to don reflective clothing and equip yourselves with festive lights. Whether it's twinkling fairy lights, glowing necklaces, or jingle bell bracelets the more, the merrier! Safety First Stay Visible! With the excitement of the scavenger hunt, it's easy to get caught up in the thrill. To ensure everyone's safety, please prioritize visibility. Reflective clothing acts like a festive cloak of invisibility to passing vehicles, making you easily spotted. Whether it's a reflective headband, shoelaces, or a stylish reflective jacket, let your festive attire dazzle and ensure you're seen by all. Let's all shine bright and stay visible as we dash through the holiday wonderland.
