Organiser's Description
9TH ANNUAL 5K RUN / 2.5K WALK RAISES FUNDS TO HELP LOCAL AGENCIES PROVIDE ESSENTIAL SERVICES TO THE HOMELESS IN LOS ANGELES.
LOCATION: GRIFFITH PARK, CRYSTAL SPRINGS EQUESTRIAN TRAIL, A SCENIC FLAT COURSE, CHIP-TIMED RUN OR SELF-PACED WALK FOR INDIVIDUALS, GROUPS AND FAMILIES. FREE PARKING, RACE BIBS FOR RUNNERS, TOP FINISHER AWARDS, SNACKS AND REFRESHMENTS!
There are many situations that lead to homelessness broken families, job loss/financial difficulties, drug/alcohol addiction or mental health issues. Oftentimes, there are multiple issues involved that require different resources to address specific needs. Many organizations are working to help homeless adults, teens, children and families through shelters, religious institutions, school programs, and food pantries. From food, clothing or housing to medical care and employment opportunities, more help is desperately needed.
_Pennies From Kevan Foundation ('PFKF'_) raises funds to help local homeless services agencies provide these essential services so that more needs can be met. L.A.'s Mayor, Karen Bass has made the homelessness crisis one of her top priorities since taking office, declaring a STATE OF EMERGENCY ON HOMELESSNESS on her first day in office. The need has never been greater and we thank you for helping by participating in this annual fundraiser or by making a one-time or recurring donation to PFKF.
