Join us for the Hope for the Holiday Half Marathon and 5K in Memory of Garrett Yeager on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in beautiful Batesville, Independence. This uplifting event honors the legacy of Garrett Yeager, a beloved friend, son, brother, and father, while supporting two incredible causes: the Special Olympics of Batesville and New Hope Refuge, a faith-based program dedicated to helping women overcome substance abuse challenges.
Participants can choose between a scenic 5K route through the picturesque Eagle Mountain neighborhood or the more challenging half marathon that takes you on a journey through the stunning Lyon College campus. The half marathon includes a serene 3/4 mile trail section and wraps up with a run along charming country roads back to Eagle Mountain. Every runner will receive a finishers medal and a stylish race hoodie! Make sure to register by November 30th to guarantee your hoodie and don’t miss the packet pickup on race morning from 6:30 to 7:45 AM. Lace up your running shoes for a day of fun, fitness, and fellowship, all in the spirit of giving back this holiday season!

Organiser's Description
The race is being held to honor the memory of Garrett Yeager beloved friend, son, brother and father. All proceeds will be donated in his memory to Special Olympics of Batesville and New Hope Refuge. New Hope Refuge is a faith based and Christ centered program for women who are struggling with substance abuse issues.
The race course you get a little bit of everything. Starting out in the beautiful Eagle Mountain neighborhood for the 5k. The half marathon will continue over to the beautiful campus of Lyon College, once at Lyon you will jump on the 3/4 mile trail section of the course, upon exiting the trail you will run the country roads leading back to the main highway to work your way back to Eagle Mountain.
Each participant will receive a finishers medal and race hoodie. Race registration will cut off on November 30th to be guaranteed a hoodie. Packet pickup will be race morning starting at 630 until 7:45.
Cancellation Policy
If the race is cancelled all entries will be deferred to the 2025 race. Sorry, no refunds.
