Lace up your favorite sneakers and get moving! Join us for our annual virtual 5K event, Hope in Motion: LGMD2D Awareness 5K. Whether you walk, run or roll, every mile matters. The best part? You can choose your favorite location! This virtual event can be completed anywhere!
Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, type 2D / R3 (LGMD2D), is caused by mutations in the alpha-sarcoglyan gene that lead to a deficiency of functional alpha-sarcoglycan protein. LGMD2D causes weakness of muscles in the hip, shoulder, and abdomen. There is currently no cure or treatment available. We want to change that. Your participation in this event will not only raise awareness but will also help support research to find effective treatments or a cure for LGMD2D/R3.
The cost of this event includes your participation along with an exclusive Hope in Motion t-shirt. Your participation brings us closer to raising vital funds for research, advocacy and awareness for LGMD2D.
* Your address will be shared with the t-shirt printing company for shipment purposes.
* We are currently only able to accept participants within the United States. We hope to broaden this scope for future events.
