Event summary

Get ready to lace up your shoes and embrace the great outdoors for a fantastic cause! The Hub Miles for Mental Health event kicks off on May 1, 2025, and runs through May 31, 2025, in the beautiful town of Cold Spring, Putnam. This month-long event encourages participants to walk, hike, run, or bike, all while raising awareness and funds for vital mental health and addiction recovery resources in the community.

Whether you choose to register as an individual, a family, or even form a team with friends near and far, your commitment to moving your body will not only promote your own mental well-being but also help reduce stigma around mental health issues. Engaging in physical activity has been shown to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety, enhance sleep quality, and foster creativity. Plus, participants can track their miles online and enter weekly challenges for exciting prizes, including gift cards to local businesses! Join this uplifting initiative and help create a culture of openness and support as we all strive for better mental health this May!

Organiser's Description

Join the Philipstown Behavioral Health Hubs MILES FOR MENTAL HEALTH!

You commit to moving your body - walk, hike, run, or bike - throughout the month of May, and your participation will help the Hub provide free access to mental health and addiction & recovery resources in our community. Your participation also reduces stigma and creates a culture of openness so people feel empowered to get the help they need.

Register as an individual or as a family. Or gather some friends - near or far - and register as individuals on a team.

(Note: if you register as a family or team, just use one name.)

Studies show that physical activity improves mental health by decreasing symptoms of depression, alleviating anxiety, enhancing sleep, and increasing creativity. Physical activity can also help curb drug and alcohol cravings and mitigate brain damage from substance abuse. By committing to moving your body, you are investing in your mental health!

Join our online community! Follow the Hub on Facebook and Instagram to connect and support each other throughout the month. Post your photos, tag Philipstown Behavioral Health Hub, and use #HubMilesforMentalHealth.

Keep track of your miles here on Run Signup. We will email you to remind you, and prizes will be given for longest distance in a week, most improved distance from week one to week four

ALL participants will be entered into weekly drawings for gift cards to local Philipstown businesses!

Business sponsorship opportunities are available. Email [email protected] to learn more!

The goal of this event is to move your body throughout the month of May. Just like with mental health, not every day will go as planned. It's okay if you miss a day; just pick up where you left off the next day!
