Organiser's Description

The Hummingbird Run is a 5K/10K Run + 5K Walk in support of safe driving. Proceeds benefit the Elizabeth K. Giordano Scholarship Fund. Fun activities for the whole family include entertainment, a raffle, food, speakers, and medals for winning participants in selected categories. Strollers and leashed pets welcome. After the race a drawing will be held to award several $1,000 scholarships to participating high school seniors who are present at the race.

Course Details

Flat and on suburban paved roads.

What's Included

Details are communicated via email prior to the event. Pre-registrants may pick up their race bib the day before, if desired, or on the morning of the event. On-site registration available. Entertainment, speakers, a warm-up, begin at 9 a.m. Race begins for all participants at 10 a.m. Speakers continue briefly after the race, talking about the need for safe driving. Attendees may purchase raffle tickets for great prizes. Beautiful medals are awarded to top finishers in 25 categories based on age and sex. Children may walk or run the 5K. Families, friends, strollers, and leashed pets are welcome. Free food after the race. Goodie bags and free t-shirts for the first 200 registrants. A drawing is held to award several $1,000 scholarships for participating high school seniors. Event ends about noon.

  • What time must I arrive on race day?

    We recommend arriving by 9 a.m.

  • What time does the event end?

    Event activities end about noon but you can stay a little while longer to socialize and eat if you wish.

  • Is there a rain date?

    No, it is held rain or shine.

  • How do I enter the drawing for $1,000 scholarships?

    High school seniors are invited to pre-register using special categories on the race-booking platform. When registering on-site, tell the registrars you are a high school senior. The drawing is held after the race, about noon. Must be present to win.
