This thrilling event will take place on Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at the Flagler-Palm Coast High School track. The series features three exhilarating 1-mile races, scheduled for December 7th, 14th, and 21st, each starting at 8:30 AM. Open to all children in grades 4 through 8, this series is a fantastic opportunity for young athletes to showcase their speed and endurance while enjoying a fun and competitive atmosphere.
Participants will tackle 4 laps around the track, with results categorized by grade level, ensuring everyone has a fair shot at glory. While individual race awards are not given, every runner who completes at least two of the three races will receive a finisher medal at the final event on December 21st. Plus, the top three boys and girls in each grade will earn series awards based on their cumulative points. Organiser's Description
This is a series of three 1 mile races to be held at the track at Flagler-Palm Coast High School (FPC). The dates will be December 7th, 14th, and 21st. Races start at 8:30am. These races are open to any child in grades 4th through 8th. Each runner will run 1 mile on the track (4 laps). Although several grades may run together, results will be separated by grade level. There are no individual race awards but at the last race on December 21st, all runners who complete at least 2 of the 3 races will be given a finisher medal. We will also give out series awards for the top 3 runners in each grade level for both boys and girls. Scoring: in each race, the top 5 will be awarded points. 1st=10, 2nd=7, 3rd=5, 4th=3, and 5th=1. At the last race, points will be tallied to determine the series placings. In the event of a tie, the winner of the last head to head race will be declared the winner.
