The 5k course winds through beautiful ski trails, making it an ideal choice for those new to trail racing or anyone looking to relive their high school cross country memories. For seasoned runners, the 15k course promises a thrilling experience with its technical singletrack trails and demanding climbs, including a breathtaking ascent to the top of the IWSC's Ski Jumping Hill!
Runners can look forward to the 15k starting at 9 AM, followed by the 5k at 9:15 AM. Families are encouraged to join in the fun with a free kids 1k race, weather permitting. Enjoy delicious food and drinks available for purchase in the Chalet, and don’t forget to register early to secure your spot—only $30 until March 1st, and $40 thereafter. Join us for the annual Iola Spring Trail Race on Saturday April 18th, 2026. Come enjoy a day on the trails at the IWSC! Two different race distances, 5k and 15k. The 5k is a winding course moving primarily over ski trail this is a perfect course for people looking to dip their foot into trail racing or reminisce on their high school cross country days! The 15k course is a more technical course with singletrack trail and lung busting climbs - one of which will take you to the top of the IWSC's Ski Jumping Hill! 15k starts at 9am and the 5k starts at 9:15am.
There will also be a free kids 1k race weather permitting. Food and drinks will be available to purchase in the Chalet. $30/race until March 1st, $40 after March 1st. Day of registration will be available from 8-845 day of the race (cash only).
