2nd Annual Jessup Lonza Club 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk -

The Jessup Lonza Club was formed in 2022 as a means of bringing people together through Italian cuisine and culture. While enjoying unique fare and libations, we are able to connect with loved ones and strangers alike to revel in shared stories and create new memories. We do not take these experiences for granted and we recognize that, for many, having the time and resources may seem like a privilege only others can afford.

There is no better way to connect with our community and neighbors than by contributing to our health and wellness while also helping those in need by donating to a 100% volunteer-run mutual aid organization. This event will benefit Fruits & Roots which was established in August of 2023 as a community refrigerator project located outside of the Valley Community Library in Peckville, PA. The volunteer-run mutual aid organization hosts primarily fruits and vegetables in order to provide nutritious and fresh alternatives/accompaniments to the shelf-stable items found in food pantries. Fruits & Roots strives to nourish the 12.7% of Lackawanna County who are food insecure.

We have decided to again promote and benefit this cause to ensure those in need have resources available so they can focus on what stories and experiences they can share. Here's to taking if you need and giving what you can. So, let's (un)clog those arteries and get rid of the fat!

WHAT: 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk

WHEN: Saturday, September 7th at 9:00 AM

WHERE: Blakely Borough Recreational Complex, 303 Riverside Dr., Peckville, PA 18452

REGISTRATION FEES: $20 for walkers, $25 for runners, $30 for day of registrants

T-SHIRTS: Unisex t-shirts for all participants

DAY OF REGISTRATION: 7:30 AM - 8:45 AM

PACKET PICKUP : Friday, September 6th at the Valley Community Library (739 River Street, Peckville, PA 18452). Time - TBD. If you are unable to attend the pre-race day event, there will be race day morning pickup starting at 7:30 AM.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This is an officially timed event, by Falcon Race Timing. There will be free snacks and refreshments and as well Jessup Lonza Club merchandise for purchase.
