The day kicks off at 8:00 AM with a scenic 5K race and a 1-mile fun walk, perfect for all ages and fitness levels. Families can enjoy a variety of games, and there’s even a FREE Kid's Dash (1/4 mile) for children aged 9 and under.
This year's event features keynote speaker Chief Mark Furnish, a retired firefighter who inspires others with his personal journey of overcoming colon cancer. Participants can look forward to commemorative race shirts, chip timing, and awards for top finishers and fundraising teams. Bring your four-legged friends along for a chance to win the "Daisy" Best Dressed Superhero Dog Award! INSPIRED BY FELLOW FIREFIGHTER BRUCE DEARK'S COMMITMENT TO RAISING AWARENESS ABOUT COLORECTAL CANCER, MARK UNDERWENT HIS FIRST COLONOSCOPY IN 2022 AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COLON CANCER. AFTER A 44-YEAR CAREER IN THE FIRE SERVICE, MARK RETIRED IN 2025 AND IS NOW CANCER-FREE. HE USES HIS STORY TO ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO GET SCREENED AND TAKE ACTION BEFORE CANCER BECOMES A CRISIS.

A fun, untimed 1/4 mile fun run/walk for kids ages 9 and under. This is a FREE event. Participating children will receive a participation medal but there will be no shirts, bibs or awards for this event. You should register your child so we have a good head count. -
Virtual Runner/Walker

If you can't join us in person you can still help our life saving cause. Sign up as a virtual runner/walker and you can run/walk your own "Kicking Butt 5K" on your own schedule and hometown. We'll mail you your race packet/shirt unless you are able to pick up locally. The extra cost helps with mailing fees.
