Join the excitement at the Lake Run Club Kids Run For Fun Summer Series, taking place from June 5 to July 31, 2026, in Bloomington, McLean! This beloved family event invites children ages 1-12 to experience the joy of running in a non-competitive setting. Kicking off at Central Catholic High School for the month of June, young runners will enjoy a friendly atmosphere where they can learn that exercising is fun. With age-specific heats ensuring safety and camaraderie, kids will race in various distances, starting with the littlest runners at 6:00 PM.
As the summer progresses into July, the event will move to Kingsley Junior High School in Normal, continuing the fun and fitness journey. Registration is easy, with options available for single sessions or all summer long, including a T-shirt option. Parents are welcome to join in the fun with their little ones, making this a fantastic way for families to bond over fitness. Celebrate 30 years of Kids Run for Fun this summer and create lasting memories with your children!

* DUE TO NCHS TRACK RESURFACING, THE KIDS RUN FOR FUN VENUE WILL CHANGE IN 2026. For the Month of June, it will be held at Central Catholic High School.
Children ages 1-12 are invited to run on Friday evenings during the summer at CCHS 1201 AIRPORT ROAD BLOOMINGTON, IL This family program by the Lake Run Club, is non-competitive and intended to help teach kids that exercising and running can be fun. Children will be grouped according to age with the younger ones (2 and under) running first (parents may run with young kids). Age groups with many children will run in several "heats" to avoid congestion and accidents. This is our 30th year of the Kids Run for Fun!
VENUE LOCATION FOR 2026 WILL BE AT CENTRAL CATHOLIC FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE. DURING THE MONTH OF JULY, WE WILL HOST THE KIDS RUN FOR FUN AT KINGSLEY JR HIGH SCHOOL IN NORMAL.
Walkup Registration will start at 5:30 PM at CCHS High School. ADDRESS: CCHS 1201 Airport Road Bloomington, IL
* $5.00 Registration for single Friday Session. Walk Up Registration on Friday from 5:30-6:00PM.
* $18.00 Registration for all sessions, no T-Shirt.
* $25.00 Entry will cover all sessions, and T-Shirt. (Please use the runsignup link so we can pre-order T-Shirts)
2 Year olds will start promptly at 6:00 PM, followed by 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9-11, 12+ open mile run. Timing clocks will be onsite to view finish times.

Lake Run Club Summer Kids Run for Fun Series will run in heats, starting with two year olds and under. The two year olds and under will run 200 meters. All other runners will complete one lap, 400 meters. Open 1 mile run upon conclusion of 12 year old heat.
