A Leap of Faith Jaylen's Race for a Cure is a 5K fun run in support of an amazing woman and her family. Its the opportunity for South Central Kansas to leap forward as a community and provide the Meyer family the love and support they need NOW!
In August of 2023,Jaylen Meyer, beloved wife of Nick and mom to four young kids, was diagnosed with aggressive stomach cancer gastric adenocarcinoma. Initiallyshe was diagnosed stage 3 but upon further testing the cancer was found to have metastasized outside of her stomach and the diagnosis changed to stage 4. Jaylen sought treatment from the best professionals here and even travelled to MD Anderson in Houston, Texas for treatment. Unfortunately, traditional medical treatments have been ineffective.
But Jaylen isnt ready to give up! Motivated by her love of family, she is fighting to be here with her precious kids. Nick and Jaylen have discovered alternative interventions that have shown promisingresults even cures where traditional medicine said there was no hope. Committed to her family, Jaylen is taking the leap of faith to fight again. However, these alternativetreatments will not be covered by insurance. And thats where the Meyer family needs YOU!

CLOSEDThis is a fun run event for Jaylen! We welcome everyone, joggers, walkers, and runners. This will not be a timed event. 1st, 2nd, 3rd place medals for both male and female winners. Bring a water bottle to refill at our coolers! ****Families that have over four participants, you may cap your registration at 4. Everyone else in your family is free to join at no cost. You can purchase the additional t-shirts on the day of the run.***** T-shirt sizes are guaranteed with registration until Sept 2nd so register early! Check in begins on the day of the race at 8:15am Run Begins near Plum Shelter near large playground.
