Join us for a heartwarming event, "Making Waves for Megan," on Saturday, August 31, 2024, in Wilmington, New Hanover. This uplifting walk is dedicated to supporting Megan Nelligan and her family as they navigate the challenges of her breast cancer journey. Participants will gather at Long Leaf Park to walk a scenic 1.55-mile path, showing their love and solidarity for Megan. Registration opens at 9:30 am, and the walk kicks off at 10:00 am, so come dressed in your favorite summer beach attire to honor Megan’s love for the ocean!
After the walk, join us at Brewers Kettle for a fun gathering where you can connect with Megan, Kyle, and their children while enjoying a refreshing beverage. Don’t miss the chance to participate in our exciting 50/50 raffle, with the winner announced at 12:00 pm—be sure to be present to claim your prize! For those unable to attend in person, you can still make a difference by registering to walk virtually and sharing your experience with #MAKINGWAVESFORMEGAN. Making Waves for Megan is a walk to support and honor Megan Nelligan and her sweet family through her journey of battling breast cancer.
So many people have wanted to do something, and this is a way of showing how we care while raising money to help along the path with medical bills, food, or whatever the need may be. Megan still has a long journey ahead, so let's come together to show our love and support!
*Register to come out to Long Leaf Park in Wilmington, NC on August 31st, where we will all gather to walk the 1.55 mile path on the outskirts of the park in support of Megan. ALL proceeds raised off the walk and any donations will go to the family. *BE SURE TO COME DRESSED IN YOUR SUMMER, BEACHY ATTIRE, AS THE THEME IS BASED ON MEGAN'S LOVE OF THE BEACH!
Registration will open at 9:30 am under Shelter 1. Walk will start around 10:00am. Upon completion of walk, we will have an after gathering at Brewers Kettle located near the park, where you can stop in to say hello to Megan, Kyle and the kids and purchase a cold beverage. (They will be at the walk as well)
We will be holding a 50/50 raffle, and the winner will be announced at Brewers Kettle at 12:00pm, MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN!
CAN'T BE AT THE WALK IN WILMINGTON?
