Get ready for a day of fun and fitness at the annual McHenry Lakefront 5K and Kids Fun Run on Saturday, July 12, 2025! Set in the picturesque McHenry, this exciting event welcomes participants of all ages to walk or run along a beautiful, shaded, and flat course that begins at Petersen Park Beach. The 5K, which is chip-timed and USATF certified, offers a fantastic opportunity for runners to challenge themselves while enjoying the scenic views along the Prairie Trail and through the Lakeland Park neighborhood.
The event also features a thrilling Kids Fun Run, with two distances: a 50-meter race for ages 3-5 and a 100-meter race for ages 6-8. Every child will receive a runner medal, making it a memorable experience for the little ones! Check-in starts at 7:00 AM, with bib and shirt pickup available on Friday, July 11, or on race day. Participants will compete for awards, including top overall male and female finishers, as well as medals for the top three finishers in each age category. Join us for a day filled with community spirit, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles!
